The “Maestra Vida” theme was inspired by Ruben Blades’ masterpiece 2-part album.. In English, “Maestra Vida” loosely translates to “School of Life.”

We’re seeking uptown artists whose work artists addresses the joys, challenges, mysteries, wisdom, resistance, serenity, and passion that we experience in this “Maestra Vida.”

The application deadline is Friday, May 9th at 11:59PM EST. There is no fee for applying.

The application requires artists to provide an Artist Statement (200 words), a Bio (150 words), up to 3 work samples related to the “Maestra Vida" theme, info about their work samples, plus links to their website and/or social media.

Artists must live or work in Washington Heights, Inwood, East, West and Central Harlem or the Bronx.
